Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bosley is a 7-8 year old Australian Cattle Dog (Red Heeler). He came from a shelter in Texas and spent his initial “freedom” at a boarding facility in the same area. Thanks to help from Pilots ‘n Paws, Bosley got a ride in a nice airplane that took him all the way to Tucson, AZ to his new foster family.
Bosley is a very loving boy that bonds strongly to his person, but it does take a little time. He’s on the large side for a Heeler at about 65 lbs. but very gentle with his humans. Bosley plays well with other dogs and is mostly submissive. Introductions should be monitored, but Bosley has done fine with meeting a number of different dogs of all sizes. He is somewhat crate trained and will eat his dinner in a crate. Once he is done though, he will let you know that he is ready to get out. He is not a fan of being crated for other situations but he’s a really good boy and doesn’t do things he shouldn’t when not crated. He has free roam privileges even when the foster parents are away.
Bosley knows how to use a doggie door and is house trained. He is ok on a leash, but tends to pull and wants to go his own way. More work on that is recommended. Bosley is not a big barker (unless he’s in his crate and done eating)
Bosley is untested with small children, though his laid back personality would indicate that children over the age of 6 shouldn’t be a problem. He has not been tested with cats.
Overall, Bosley is a wonderful dog, moderately active, happy and people oriented. He would do well with other dogs, but would adapt readily to being the only dog also.
So, if you love that Heeler personality, but need it a little subdued, love being around your best buddy and having him close by all the time and love giving and receiving affection, Bosley may be the perfect dog for you.

There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.
