My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In a world meant to be filled with love and kindness, Molly's story unfolds as a poignant reminder that not every creature is fortunate enough to experience such warmth. Confined to a basement, she was deprived of the affection and care every living being deserves. Yet, Molly's spirit endured, and one day, she seized the chance to break free from her living nightmare. With determination in her eyes, she navigated obstacles, jumped over debris, and clawed her way through darkness, fueled by a flicker of hope.

Here, at Washington County Animal Control, Molly found solace in the arms of compassionate volunteers. They have been showing her what true love is, gradually mending the broken pieces of her trust. Each gentle touch and reassuring word helps Molly regain confidence in the goodness of humanity. Her journey from captivity to freedom is a testament to the resilience and strength within us all.

However, past trauma has left Molly distrustful of other dogs and disliking cats, making shelter life incredibly stressful for this gentle giant. The challenge lies in the fact that Washington County Animal Control is at its limit, facing a growing number of surrendered and abandoned dogs. The space is running short, and the fear is that they might be unable to rescue more, leaving these discarded and unwanted pets alone and cold during the holidays.

Molly's Characteristics:

💔 Past Trauma: Distrustful of other dogs, dislikes cats
🐾 Age: Around 4 years old
🏡 Ideal Home: Best as an only pet, potential consideration for adoption with a male dog after a meet and greet
Molly's new family will play a crucial role, ensuring her safety with microchipping, spaying, and keeping vaccinations up-to-date. These extra measures are not included in the adoption fee but are essential for Molly's continued well-being.

As Christmas approaches, a season of love, charity, and gratitude, the plea is to consider welcoming one of these lonely souls into your home. If adoption isn't possible right now, fostering is another way to provide temporary shelter and care. Help us find these furry angels a home for the holidays, where they can experience the warmth and love they deserve. 🐾❤️🏡
