Guns-n-Roses ain't got nothing on this handsome boy! Meet Axel! Axel is a two year-old energetic, smart, strapping young man with amber eyes that match his fur. He loves his ball (he's always with the ball!), rope, and going for walks and runs. Axel needs an active family who loves to throw a ball as much as he loves to catch it. And although we're em*bark*ing (ha! see what I did there?) upon winter, Axel has indicated he likes to wade and swim. He is social with a heart of gold and loves his hoomans, but he is not affectionate. He likes an occasional pet or snuggle, but on his terms. So if you're looking for a buddy you pet or snuggle whenever you feel like it, Axel is not your man. Axel is also a great communicator! You can always tell what he's thinking or what he wants. He is discerning and slow to warm, but when he does, he is your loyal sidekick. Axel is great with other dogs! We have 5 fools ourselves who can be kinda jerks when a new dog comes around, but Axel was unphased and fit right in. He is leash trained, potty trained, crate trained, and can sit, shake, lay down, and roll over. Axel has seasonal allergies so needs a hooman who will help him with that. Because he was sedentary in last living situation, he's also a little heavier than he should be right now. He's lost 7 lbs. with us and could probably lose another 7 lbs. But being on a doggie diet hasn't phased him or slowed him down one bit! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative!
