Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ox is ~ 7 months old, 50 lbs. He'll probably be a pretty big boy. He's in a foster home with a dog trainer who's setting him up for success by providing appropriate training and assessment in terms of what we're looking for in a home for this boy.
Pros:
Crate trained (though he does have fomo and likes to whine/scream if he thinks he’s been in there too long or you’re doing stuff without him) he will sleep through the night in there though
Potty trained (he does really well on a schedule & can hold it overnight)
Rides really well in a car crate (all dogs that come to us learn to ride in crates in the car)
Extremely food motivated
Loves to train
Great with other dogs, though I think he’d do better with males than females, especially if it’s an older already established dog in the home
Environmentally sound. Nothing really spooks this guy & he adapts easily to new environments
Getting his basics down, including loose leash walking. He’s been introduced to a prong & responds beautifully to it
Great for handling/grooming
Affectionate, likes cuddles
Neutral towards people & dogs out in public. (I imagine he’d be the same with any sort of other animal as long as neutrality was reinforced)
Cons:
He does like to bark at people when he’s in the yard, so literally only at home. He can be discouraged easily but this has been a hard habit to break
We’re ideally looking for a home that will continue with his training because he’s got the potential to be a super rock solid dog! He seems like he’s going to be a bigger dog, but ideally someone who’s prepared to handle a large dog in the future!
If this lovable Ox sounds like a great fit for your fam, fill out an application on our website www.wallflowersshine.com/application.
Ox is located in the Portland area. Thank you.
