My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Psst, quit scrolling and let me introduce myself. I`m Sacha!
I may be a senior, but my spirit is as youthful as ever. I`m a sweet, goofy gal who loves making new friends. I enjoy the company of kids and other dogs, their energy keeps me feeling young! However, I must admit, I have a bit of a high prey drive, so a home without small animals would be best for me, especially cats. I`m all about fun and butt scratches, and I promise to bring lots of joy and laughter into your life. When I see a familiar friendly face, I can’t help but get the biggest smile and let out a happy scream. Volunteers say I’m a delight.
As a senior, I have a lot of love to give, and I`m looking for a forever home where I can share that love. So, how about it? Let`s make some wonderful memories together!

More about this shelter

The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as the municipal shelter for Allegany County and is located at 716 Furnace Street in Cumberland. For many years, the shelter served as the final destination for nearly 85% of the animals that entered it. In late 2010, a group of passionate citizens led the charge to change the nature of the shelter with a goal of doing as much as possible for every animal, every day. It was the first step on the journey to becoming A Shelter of Hope.
