She has mastered the basics like sit, come, stay, and roll over, making every training session a breeze as she eagerly engages with her human companions. This girl would do best in a home with older children that can keep up with her energy and active lifestyle.

"She was so good on her car ride over. Very relaxed. She got herself acclimated pretty quickly at home and found a few of her favorite toys to play with while we cooked together. She's an excellent walker and post walk napper. She is laid back and really great at meeting new people. She's really good at fetch with her toys but her favorite thing in the world is playing tug a war! She's gentle while she does it."

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
