My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Magoo came to us from a shelter. Right now he is 19#'s but can use a few more. and probably 8-10 yrs old. He is friendly, laid back, gentle, and loves to go for walks. He will be up to date on shots and neutered before he is ready for adoption. I wanted to introduce him to you now. Please check back for updates.

Update 6/27/10 Magoo loves car rides, but doesn't like cats, maybe they just scare him or maybe he doesn't like one particular cat.

Update 7/11/10 Magoo started out to be a lone ranger, slow, calm quiet, indifferent to people and their touch. He clumbsily wandered around the fenced dog run aimlessly. He has turned into Magoo, funny, waggy, curious and loves to follow people. He still wanders around the fenced dog run or on leash but he often (more and more) stops by a person for attention, then goes back to his wandering. I say he is stopping to "smell the roses". He loves, loves, loves car rides. on the lap is his preference. Magoo has cataracts but can see - the more light the better. He doesn't run into things. His back legs are a little weak probably due to arthritis, so he doesn't jump. If you want a wonderful easy dog to care for, he's the one.
7/31/10 UPDATE - Magoo is coming along fine. He is active, likes to be where people are. He sure does love his treats and will follow you anywhere to get one. He is neutered, utd on all shots and ready for a great forever home.
8/15/10 UPDATE - Magoo is adjusting to his new life. He responds well to touch for guidance and assurance that his person is still there to meet his needs. He loves to run around a fenced in area. With limited vision dogs it is easier if things are consistent and minimal change. (like funiture, beds, food/water bowls be left in the same spot so they can find them easier). A pillow or blanket on the floor helps him get his bearings on where he is. Different room smells help him also in that way. Magoo has some hearing loss so he is learning clicker training as we use a loud metal type click so he can be sure to hear it. There are many creative ways to help him feel safe and comfortable.
8/25/10 I took a video of Magoo running around the yard, You will enjoy this boy watching him run and having fun for maybe the first time in his life.
UPDATE - 9/24/10 Magoo is still looking for that special loving forever home. He is doing very well. He sleeps through the night with his foster mom and dad. He is a real all around good ol boy.
UPDATE - 10/20/10 Magoo's routine vet visit showed strong kidneys, strong bladder, no thickening of the wall, sr. bloodwork showed no health issues. He continues to be a strong and healthy guy. Latest pic shows him eating a pretzel.
