My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Angel was adopted but she never left rescue. While waiting for her new mom to get into her new home a catastrope happened to the family. Her adopted mom decided it would be in Angels best interest to be offer to a new family.

Since being last posted Angel has attempted to play with the tiny dog in her foster home, but is still pretty unsure if interacting with others of her species is a good idea. She needs to go to a home where she is the only dogin the household. She has done very well with house training. She rarely has an accident and is even going to the door to let us know she want to go out. She needs to have a regular potty schedule and consistent praise for making the right choice.

Angel is a VERY sweet little girl. She is 30lbs. She is a black tri, with lots of white. She is 4 years old, spayed and current on all vaccines flea treatment and heartworm preventitive.

She originally came from another rescue where she was turned in by her owners who had to move into town and gave up her and her sister to rescue. She spent the first four years of her life living in a kennel and just getting out to go about the farm with her owners. She did not receive much if any socialization with life outside of the farm. She is very shy and soft. She does not like harsh voices and goes and hides. She has done very well with positive reinforcement training and is taking to the clicker.

I took Angel into rescue to get her into a home situation for evaluation and in the hopes that she would integrate in to our pack. She has always been in a pack of two and I believe was bullied by her sister who was bigger and the dominant dog. Therefore she finds most other dogs intimidating. She had never been in a house until she came to stay with us. She has made much progress in adapting to family life. Once she settled in I started evaluating her to see what type of permanent home situation would be best for her long term happiness. It has been determined that she loves all people, but I believe she would be happiest in a home where she is the only dog and gets all the love. She is not aggressive with other dogs, but seems worried when they move quickly about the house. She has been to dog parks and has never had problems with others. She does tend to hang out around the people and not the dogs. She does well with cats and has been around livestock with no problems.

Angel is a major cuddle bug and if you let her she would happily curl up next to you on the couch forever. She also has the softest coat ever. A pleasure to pet. She has never met a person that is not a friend. Due to the lack of real world socialization Angel will always have a shy side, but with continued positive social experiences she has the potential to blossom even more than she already has. She is very bright and when she is not thinking about how worried she might need to be, you can sometimes glimpse the "real Border Collie" in her. I believe that in a loving home she will become someone’s very best friend. She is good with all the children she has met, but should be supervised around them due to the fact she is a Border Collie.
