Maine Coon Rescue cannot guarantee the parentage or breed of cats on this site. THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. BIO: What can I even say about this little stinker that will truly show you how her personality really is? She is crazy for affection and will sniff all over your face trying to capture your essence. I joke that she would get into my mouth if she could, the little weirdo! When she sniffs she sounds like a dog panting hahahaha She is so playful as most kittens are. She is hard to get good photos of because she won't sit still for long at all! I think once settled into a home of her own she will calm down and become a lap cat. She already has become a lap cat more each day. She will curl up and sleep on our laps for a long time. Also as kittens age a couple more months they tend to chill a little. The more time she spends here with us, the more she enjoys being held and cuddled. She is just so loving and sweet, but wants to run around! She wants to be friends with another cat in our home and I do think they have finally become civil. I think Bubbles will make herself at home with any pets. She has been around my smaller dog and she wants to be his friend so badly! At 11 years old he really doesn't want anything to do with a crazy kitten who wants to be in his face. He lets her know and she just goes on to the next crazy thing!! So I do think she will be great with a dog as long as it's one that doesn't hurt her since she is still pretty small for her age. She goes right up to other pets and tries to make friends and isn't afraid at all it seems. She is really vocal all of the time! She chirps every time you talk to her. If you call for her she comes running while chirping and meowing. She is quite the talker and it's really funny to hear her. She comes when called like a dog! I've been calling her BooBoo for short. You know we have to make up variations of their names and call them by those nicknames haha! She does answer to her name but you can change it if you want. I really think she will answer to anything. Especially since she is still young. I would like to tell you about her history. This little one was pulled with several others from a high kill shelter here in West Virginia. She ended up very sick and almost died. Also she had no idea how to eat from a bowl! She wouldn't bottle feed and absolutely fought me with a syringe. I couldn't get any food or liquid into her at all! She was losing weight rapidly and I just knew one morning I would check on her in her "hospital crate" and she would be dead. The other kittens weighed around 2.5 and 3 pounds at that time. Poor Bubbles got down to under a pound! I lost so much sleep over this baby and couldn't seem to help her, even with the best of vet care and medications. I was giving her fluids and she wouldn't sit still. I had to wrap her tightly in a blanket or towel to do so. I called her my tiny purrito! She just had so much fight in her and I knew I had to fight too. I think most people would have put her to sleep because she was so far gone. But she never gave up. As tiny and emaciated as she was, she wasn't weak. She had literally no muscle on her at all, just bones. It was strange to feel for muscle in her little legs and only feel bones. How was she still alive?! I asked myself this every minute of every day!! But let me tell you she fought me. She scratched and clawed her way to life so I couldn't give up. I had another sick kitten and she didn't know how to eat from a bowl either. I put her in the cage with Bubbles so I could monitor them closely. When they don't have a mother to teach them these things it makes things so hard for them to thrive. That kitten ate from a syringe like crazy though, so I was able to teach her how to eat and drink from a bowl. That kitten ended up teaching Bubbles in the process. I was so thankful to find something that worked!! Once they learned there was no stopping them! At times she has a bit of a kitty cold and may need antibiotics. Nothing severe, just a little runny eye and maybe runny nose or a sneeze occasionally. It could be feline herpes but there is no test for that. If it is herpes, it is easily treated. It comes and goes and doesn't seem to affect her at all. When I notice it, I go get her a round of antiviral meds and it goes away. Terramycin or antibiotic drops in her eyes helps a lot. I've been told if it is in fact herpes, L-Lysine tablets will help as well. I have not tried this yet. I use eye drops or Terramycin and it goes away, whatever it is. I just want full disclosure for anyone that is interested in adopting her. I think where she was so small and sick her immune system will take time to work properly. I've always treated it as an upper respiratory infection because she did get URI frequently when she was with her littermates. It could even be allergies. I just don't know for sure. But it's been very mild and doesn't affect her at all really. As for her looks, I always thought she was grey like her twin. While that's true, I noticed in different lighting she has a silver look to her coat. The last time I had her at the vet I noticed it and was surprised! She is absolutely beautiful with her sort of shine in the right lighting. I've been trying to take some of her body photos with the flash so you can kind of see the shiny silver look she has. She will get more fluffy as time goes by. She is finally getting some poof to her tail and her coat. Her tail is so poofy I joke that it's bigger than her body! You won't be disappointed with this precious baby girl! She has perfect litter box habits and doesn't seem to have a preference of litter. I use Fresh Step and Tidy Cats for my fosters. She is currently eating Purina Indoor dry and Friskies wet food occasionally. I give half a can as a treat daily. I've given Fancy Feast as well. She absolutely LOVES her cat tree and I have it by the window. Make sure you and your family are ready to give lots of attention because this girl craves it all of the time! If you are at work or gone a lot this isn't the cat for you. She gets lonely and really needs the companionship of her people or a companion animal in the home. I think she would love to have kids to play with her as well but that's not necessary. She doesn't scratch and isn't aggressive. She does like to claw your feet under the blankets like most cats do. I am working with her to play gently, and you may need to remind her at times. I think she will learn with time. Never hit a cat as this can make them more aggressive or even mean. I've held Bubbles back as one by one as all her littermates went to new homes. I wanted to make sure she was going to be okay. I think a part of me didn't want her to go, as part of my heart would have went with her. This is always the case, but sometimes there are special ones like Bubbles that grab on a little more than others. I think it's finally time to share her with the world and let her brighten someone's life the way she has mine. She would be such good company for someone. She is playful, friendly, sweet, hilarious, and a little crazy!! If you're looking for all of that, Bubbles is your gal! She has a way about her where she reaches in and makes a connection with your soul. I don't know any other way to explain it. I keep saying the word "crazy" but that's what she is! A crazy, stinky, rotten, hilarious kitten! Is this baby the one for you?
