Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there, I'm Alphie! AKA Alfredo Sauce, just kidding that's just what my foster mom nicknamed me. My old humans left me in the back yard all the time by myself and when I got away, somebody brought me back, but then my people said they didn't want me, so now I am looking for someone to give all my love to! Whew!
I am approximately a 1 year old Chocolate Lab, with attentive golden eyes. I am full of energy and need an active family and a big yard. I love other dogs, but would do well in a single dog household too. Sometimes my play is too much for dogs, but I think I'm hilarious! I like puppies too, but after a while they make me a little grouchy, but only for a second, then I'm ready to play again! I love to play ball and I love toys! I don't rip up toys, just the blanket in my crate, so no blankies for me.
When I'm out in the house, I don't chew anything. I just like to chew my toy on my bed or on the couch by my foster mom. I am potty trained and do really well inside and in my crate. I love my crate for downtime and I need one in my new home. I love, love, love people! I get so excited to see them, but I've learned you're not supposed to jump. I know how to walk on a leash without pulling. I can sit, lay down and stay, but you've got to practice with me sometimes because, hey look SQUIRREL!.... I get a little distracted when I'm excited but I'm young! My foster mom says I'm getting better at being calm but it helps when I get exercise, a couple of training reps and some good old fashion belly scratches and spending time with my foster mom!
My foster mom says I would do good in a family that likes to be outdoors with me doing fun stuff and that I would do good on walks to the park, hiking and maybe even doing hunting or sports! She says I'm the smartest boy! Even though I love everyone, I am a big strong boy, so no small children or elderly people, and I think I would prefer no cats.
If you think you are ready for a new best friend, please let your family rep know because I can't wait to have a furever home of my own!
If you are interested in making this Lab part of your family, please contact your SCLRR family representative. If you have not yet applied with us, please submit an online application to adopt; an SCLRR volunteer will then contact you. Please note that your homecheck must be approved in order for you to be put in touch with the dog's foster home.
