Spotlight on Chief: The Loyal Senior Gentlemen Seeking a Loving Home

Meet Chief, a majestic older dog with a heart full of loyalty and a personality that shines with wisdom. This large, distinguished pup was found as a stray, and although his previous owner promised to return, they never did. Now, Chief is on the lookout for a forever home where he can enjoy his golden years in peace and comfort.

Chief is a senior dog who is set in his ways and thrives in a stable, calm environment. He would do best in a home with an older family or a household with older children who understand and appreciate his need for a quieter life. Chief's gentle demeanor and seasoned perspective make him a perfect companion for those who appreciate the grace and calm that come with age.

One of Chief's greatest pleasures in life is his squeaky toys. He has a special affinity for them, and you'll often find him happily lounging in the sun, squeaky toy in paw, enjoying the simple joys of life. His endearing habit of sunbathing with his toys showcases his playful side and his appreciation for life's little comforts.

While Chief is a loving and devoted companion, he would do best as the only pet in the home. He prefers to be the center of attention and will thrive in an environment where he doesn't have to share his space or his squeaky toys with other animals.

If you're searching for a loyal, affectionate friend to share your life with, Chief might just be the perfect match. He's ready to bring his warmth and charm into a loving home where he can enjoy his squeaky toys, bask in the sun, and be cherished for the wonderful senior dog he is.

Come meet Chief today and discover the joy and companionship he has to offer. This gentle giant is ready to find a place where he can live out his days surrounded by love and comfort.

More about this shelter

Northshore Humane Society is one of Louisiana's largest 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organizations. Since 1953, we have been serving the neglected and abandoned animals of the Northshore region. We are an independent, non-governmental rescue that offers veterinary care, fostering, adoption, and more. We rely solely on the support of caring people like you to fund our programs and services which profoundly benefit the animals of our community. Thank you for all of your support!

Our Mission:
To be the premier organization dedicated to enhancing and saving the lives of pets in the Northshore region through community engagements, adoption, spay and neuter programs, and sheltering.

Our Vision:
To lay the foundation for a no-kill nation. To learn more about a no-kill nation, we suggest visiting www.nokilladvocacycenter.org.

What We Do:
Adoptions: Each year, we rescue, care for and find loving homes for homeless animals in our community.

Veterinary Care:
Our community clinic provides excellent veterinary care to both our rescue pets and to beloved family pets. All funds raised through our clinic directly impact the care of the homeless animals of our rescue.

Foster:
Our foster families open their homes to homeless animals who are too young, sick or scared to be immediately adopted.

Volunteer:
Hundreds of volunteers take on a variety of tasks to help care for and promote our animals, assist administration, and represent NHS at community events, allowing more time for our staff to do their jobs efficiently.

Low-Cost Pet Health:
Through grant and corporate partners, we are able to provide a variety of low-cost pet care to people in need. These include low-cost spay/neuter opportunities, microchipping, vaccinations and more!
