Oh hey friends! The name is Ziggy aka Ziggs, Ziggles, The Zig Man, Ziggerton. My history is a story of resilience, love, bravery, and a new life! I was rescued from an abusive situation by my best friends at Bark Nation, they saved me and helped my scars heal. I am so grateful for them. Now I am a Northern Michigan kid and ready to find a family to help continue my story of love! I am sure you noticed but I have the best smile. I love to be out and about, sniffing all the things, and munchin` on grass. My favorite pastime is playing with my enrichment puzzle toys, I am a smart boy and I love a good challenge. My friends say I am a babe, full of snuggles, a bit goofy, and a treat lover. I do enjoy a good chew toy! A home without other pets would be my preference, treated like a king is my prerogative. I have potential with kiddos. If you`d like to hang or go for a stroll please come visit me, I love to make new friends and maybe one of those friends will become my family.
*Ziggy is also eligible to be fostered. Please reach out to the Foster Coordinator at 231-946-5116 or rtrumbull@cherrylandhumane.org for more information about fostering. You can also visit our foster page for more information about fostering.

Please take a moment to review our Adoption Policy prior to applying to adopt a pet.
CHS accepts multiple applications on each animal, we are not first come first serve. Our team of adoption counselors will help matchmake every individual pet and family to ensure the best fit for all.
Must be 21 to adopt with a valid driver's license or state ID card.
We ask all members of the household to meet the new pet, some pets require multiple visits to build necessary relationships.
To align with our mission of solving the homeless pet crisis, all household pets must be spayed and neutered, up to date on necessary vaccinations, and live in the same household as the adopter. If not currently established with a veterinarian, a vet deposit will be required.
Cats and dogs adopted from CHS are indoor only.
Every pet is an individual, and many have individual needs such as : post adoption training (included with adoption), multiple meet and greets to feel comfortable, medical needs, etc. Our adoption counselors will communicate these needs with all interested families.
CHS will not begin adoption process with an individual when:
A person is reasonably believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Landlord or residence does not allow pets, or the living situation does not accommodate consistency for the pet (e.g. student housing, four unrelated adults living together, ect.)
Applications may be denied for any reason, including but not limited to an individual failing to comply with conditions of past adoption.
Dog Adoptions: $200
Cat Adoptions: $100
