Are you looking for a family member who will bring a smile to your face and warm your heart? If so, you should definitely consider Kioki.
Though Kioki is a 15-year-old shih tzu mix and came into the rescue with a collapsing trachea and airway disease, after finding the right veterinary care, she has made a remarkable transformation. Her foster mom has gone from worrying that CAMO could not save her to marveling as she runs around the backyard. She went from coughing for hours on end to coughing a couple times a day perhaps for a minute. In spite of many sleepless nights early on, her foster mom absolutely adores her. The way she looks at people just melts one's heart.
Kioki was adopted from a local shelter at 4 years old and returned to the same shelter to be euthanized. Luckily, the shelter staff wanted to give her a chance if they could find a rescue to take her in. CAMO stepped up. Kioki has been fully vetted, spayed and is heartworm negative. She weighs in at approximately 10 pounds. She is house trained and sleeps in her crate with the door open through the night. She does have a cataract but has vision in her other eye and gets around with no problem. She is on two eye drops twice a day which she tolerates. Her foster mom puts two medications in her meals but at the rate Kioki is going, it may be down to one soon.
She gets along with other dogs though she would be good as an only dog. If you are looking for a loving companion and would like to provide Kioki the home she deserves during her senior years, go to www.camorescue.com to submit an application. You will not regret it.
Kioki's adoption fee is $100.00
ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.
Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.
Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
