Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Dutton
Approx 4 years old. Dutton has come so far in his short life. From a long stint as a young dog in a shelter, to a home where he was basically locked in a room.
Dutton found a family that loved him dearly and was not afraid to work through his issues from his previous life. With extensive time and work with a trainer Dutton learned what real life was about and how to trust people and adapt to his surroundings. Sadly this didn't last as his young owners added to their family and Dutton did not adapt well to the new baby and change in family dynamic.
To protect everyone, including Dutton the hard choice was made to place him back in rescue. Dutton has been back with his trainer for a few months now and continues to be the big meathead of a love bug we all have come to adore.
Dutton loves belly rubs from 14 year old Saf, his trainer and his adult boys alike.
Dutton's favorite times are his training sessions with Ed where he has proven to be very biddable and in tune with his handler.
Dutton has the best off leash heal of any dog on site.
Dutton would do best in an home with older children, dog savvy teens may be okay.
He gets along well with most dogs. He needs a quiet structured home that will be patient with him while he adapts.
Dutton is sweet boy, but don't let that underestimate the management he needs to maintain the hard work he has put in to learning to be a normal dog!
