Here's what the humans have to say about me:
AVA we believe is a 2 yr young, female, spayed, fully vaccinated, house trained, crate trained and approx 35lbs (wont get any bigger) with a very sensitive spirit. She can be quite an introvert w/new folks she meets; but, once comfortable she gives great eye contact, and will want to spend a little LAP time with you before her bedtime. As an introvert, AVA’s initial demeanor is shy & fearful (more so with men); so, she requires time & patience to get acclimated to new people and any new environment (consistent routine, a little playtime & treats help). The “Rule of 3” definitely applies to Ms. AVA ;-)
AVA greets every morning with joy and wiggles, dashing out to go potty and then back inside for her much loved breakfast, then back outside with her favorite toy, and to ensure no squirrels, no cats, no rabbits…. will be invading her yard. Sometimes she will want a little “play time” prior to her yard patrol. She has a few favorite toys she carries around often and gives her a sense of security. AVA spent much of her early life in a crate (for breeding purposes) so her toys are very much cherished by her, she can be protective of her toys around other dogs. Foster mom states she is “dog selective” (calm/older dog seem best, or a dog that doesn’t care about toys).
AVA loves exploring with her nose, yep she is a terrier mix….She is learning “loose leash” walking (not a strong puller), and she welcomes every opportunity for a car ride or a walk.
A tall fenced yard is required for this young girl because in HER EXCITEMENT to catch a squirrel or rabbit or cat or.. she will run to the fenceline/gate and jump UP like a kangaroo, LOL .
She is being fostered in Miami County (Tipp City, Troy, Piqua) , OH
