My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Philly is waiting eagerly for his forever family.

He is fostered in Surrey, ready to meet you in person!

This handsome boy is 2.5 years old and weighs approx 25 lbs. Although we don’t know his exact breed, he resembles a Tibetan spaniel mix.

We’ve gotten to know Philly’s personality very well since he arrived to BC. This guy is a true gem, beautiful on the inside and outside!

So let’s tell you all about Philly ….

Philly is the textbook definition of a social butterfly! He adores people, oozes with affection, and has a deeply loving heart. He’s the dog who will greet you at the door with so much joy, cuddle up with you on the couch, and curl up under your desk while you work.

Philly is absolutely not afraid of strangers. Everyone he meets is his new best friend! He’s always eager to say hello to new folks, without any gender-based fears or preferences.

Philly is very adaptable, settling in seamlessly in new places and environments. You can bring this guy anywhere and he’ll be happy as a clam! He welcomes new visitors to the home politely, showing his friendliness to all who come over.

Philly is fantastic with children He’s gentle and kind with all little humans. He would be a great addition to any family with kiddos.

Philly lives perfectly with other dogs! He has lived in homes with multiple other dogs, easily fitting into the pack every time. He enjoys playing with doggie siblings and has not shown any possessiveness around food or toys.

Philly has also shared a home with cats and there were no issues at all between him and the kitties.

Philly’s energy level is well-balanced, he loves playtime and walks but also enjoys his down time. He would love a backyard to run around but this is not a necessity. He enjoys toys of all kinds - balls, frisbees, squeakers, stuffies - and he’ll entertain himself with these when you’re too busy to play with him. He's also happy to lounge around the house or relax on the patio in a patch of sun.

Philly is a happy little explorer during walks, eager to sniff and investigate everything around him. He does still pull on the leash but if you stop walking, he will stop right beside you and wait patiently. He is not fazed by cars, bikes, or skateboards passing by.

Philly is very enthusiastic to meet other dogs on walks - a little too enthusiastic & exuberant sometimes! When he’s on his leash, he barks at dogs passing by and pulls towards them. We correct this by shortening his leash, having him sit and using the word “look” with a treat to get his attention on us.

He is highly intelligent and learns skills quickly. He’s fully house trained and knows basic commands (sit, down, off, no, wait, leave it). Philly is very treat motivated, making training an easy and enjoyable task.

Philly is great in the car, he curls up comfortably in the backseat and has a snooze.
