Smokey arrived with his housemate Missy II (not in this photo) on 11/04/23 when they were informally surrendered by their owner after being taken to a neighboring shelter claiming they were stray dogs they found... only for it to be discovered the very same people claiming they were strays are owners on both their microchips. Smokey is a senior 13 year old Labrador Retriever that has some mild hind leg / mobility issues and a large fluid-like mass on the left side of his chest a little bigger than a soda can. Missy is a female German Shepherd that appears in better shape, she has a very close bond with her older senior Lab brother and each other are co-housed as a result.
