My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Felix
If you are familiar with the duo Felix and Oscar from The Odd Couple or Grumpy Old Men, you will understand when I say I am Felix of the couple! It`s not so much that I`m a neatnik, but I can be shy and sensitive. I am 7-years-old, and I lived alone with my family for four years. But I`ve had two cats and a dog for roommates for the last three years. That was just three too many pets in the household. I got into tiffs with the other cats and wasn`t crazy about the dog either. I was surrendered to HSHC because I was sure I was not going to change my mind about the other animals. Since coming to the shelter, I`ve preferred to stay in my Kasa; as I said, I am not the most confident, outgoing cat in the room. When the interviewer lady stopped by, I did not get up to greet her but enjoyed letting her pet me. I am a good-looking fellow with an orange and white coat and truly a good-hearted cat. I must be the only pet in the home, as we all know that I am a small, furry, 4-legged human who does not enjoy animals. I need a patient owner who can let me settle in at my own pace. At least I`m not an Oscar! 1-23-24

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
