Blue (aka Enoch) is 3.5 yrs old and weighs 50 lbs.
Blue was adopted in July by a young retired couple, Unfortunately, one of them developed allergies to him which remained uncontrollable by medication. So, sadly, we must rehome Blue.
Blue adores his people and is very affectionate towards them. You couldn't ask for a more loving dog. he is extremely friendly. When visitors are at the door, he runs straight to the door, tail wagging and jumps up to greet them. He is still working on controlling his jumping. He loves everyone - will go to anyone and will let anyone pet and cuddle him. He is still learning to contain his overwhelming welcomes to visitors and refrains to standing up on them :)
Blue is housebroken and non destructive. He is trustworthy when home alone and does not need to be crated. Occasionally, he likes to nap in his crate, door open. He generally sleeps on his dog bed with his favourite blanket.
He is well behaved when indoors, is very quiet - hardly barks at all, will not jump on furniture or beg at the table. He likes to look out the window and quietly watch was is going on in the neighbourhood.
He is very smart and will easily learn more commands with training. He knows sit, he tends to give 2 paws when sitting. He will sit and wait for his treat while we count to 3 and say watch.
He generally is a very obedient dog and wants to please.
Blue can be protective of his people when on walks so he is sometimes leash reactive to dogs, people and vehicles. He is strong and pulls. He loves his walk and clever as he is, he sometimes will play dead when on the way back to the house!
Blue's background story:
Blue was chained fo 3 yrs in a lonely unfenced backyard prior to ending up at a shelter.. His owner hardly ever interacted with him and he often went without being fed for days. A neighbour finally alerted the authorities and he was taken away. The only pleasant interaction he ever had with an other living creature was an occasional visit from a neighbourhood dog friendly dog.
