Mocha is a very clever and athletic kitten who absolutely adores attention. He's high-energy and loves playing with toys and his humans and kitten brothers. He's the quintessential lap cat, and when he's not running up cat trees, he's snoozing next to his foster mom or one of his brothers. At night he sleeps next to his foster mom, often demanding her pillow (and getting his way because he's so cute).
Mocha, like his brother Beans, is incredibly curious. He does chew on plants and his forever home must not have toxic plants. He's incredibly athletic and has been known to jump, climb, and crawl his way to trouble, including by opening cabinets. A tiny bit of cat-proofing will ensure Mocha can safely explore his new home.
Mocha loves human visitors but can be a little shy at first and may hide until he hears the treat jar opening. But if you have a treat, he'll be your friend forever. He quickly warms up to human visitors and is curious and seeks them out once he's comfortable. Mocha came to his foster home at around six weeks old from a downstate Illinois shelter. He was incredibly friendly from the start and was likely born around humans or taken in by humans quite early.
We plan to place Beans and Mocha in a forever home together as they have bonded in foster care and both would benefit from having a companion and playmate.

CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home.
At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally, cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone.
Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home.
Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster-based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
