My story

Duchess: I am very shy because I was rescued at about 8 weeks old from living in an outside colony & my mom always told me to watch out for those human strangers! I take a while to trust humans and I'm still prone to hide when there are loud noises and such. I will do best in a quieter home with no small children. I think I would like a cat sibling but I would also be fine adopted as an only fur-kid. After I warm up to you, I'll come to you for cuddles and pets and purr VERY loudly. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
