Scruffy is an amazing dog! He is about 10 years old, weighs about 25 pounds, is neutered, is up-to-date on all of his vaccinations, has no health problems, and is the biggest love you’ll ever meet. He loves to go on car rides and walks. He likes to wade in the water and play with other dogs at the dog park. But he loves his people the most!

Scruffy is a lapdog when he’s not outside playing. He puts his paws up on your chest and gazes into your eyes while you pet him. Scruffy is good with older children. We have never had him around cats, but his laid-back personality tells us he would probably do OK.

One thing he’s very passionate about is chickens and chicken coops. If you have free-roaming chickens Scruffy is not for you.

Scruffy loves to sleep on the bed and give you good night and good morning kisses. There is a 6-pound Chihuahua and an 80-pound Lab in his foster home and Scruffy loves them both and gives them good morning kisses.

For being 10 Scruffy acts like he’s more like six or seven. His foster has taken him on a 3-mile hike in the foothills; he loved every second.

Scruffy is a great listener and comes when you call him. But if he is off leash and sees another dog or person he will be torn between coming back to you and going to say hello to them. He is very friendly with everyone. He barks when someone knocks on the door and then is very friendly with them when they come in.

Scruffy needs to have a walk at least once a day, and a backyard would be ideal. For 10 year old dog he’s still very active. He would do best with an older, active household.

Scruffy is not crate-trained but can be trusted alone in the house. He is fully potty trained, uses a dog door, and does not destroy any furniture. He does like to play with toys.
