Hi everyone, my name is Diesel. I am a 9-year-old Male Shih tzu mix. I weigh just over 10 pounds. My fur is a shiny black and it’s so soft and wavy when it grows out a bit.
Don’t let my age fool you - I’m very active and love the great outdoors. I would need a lot of walks to help me work off some of my extra energy. I do very well with the harness and leash. A secure fenced yard would be great as long as you have the time to hang out there with me. The first couple of days I would like to claim every inch of the yard. Once I do that, all is good in that department.
My foster mom put a belly band (male wrap) on me the first few days when I roamed the house and I did great, then she could trust me to do my business outside. When I go to my new home with a new routine hopefully it will be the same. I get along with the other dogs in my foster home - I don’t play with them but I do bark at them when they play with each other and chase them around the secure fenced yard (my foster mom says I’m the fun police). I don’t really care about toys except sometimes I do find a chew that sparks my interest. I ride really well crated in the car and at bedtime with not a peep out of me all night. When my foster mom leaves the house for a short time I sleep quietly snuggled in my crate. I need to learn a few manners that you can help me with . I do like to jump up on your lap without warning – I really should wait until I’m invited so no one gets hurt. Every time someone stands up I think its time to go outside even if I was just out a short time ago – I will jump at the door until you take me out. Again hopefully a regular routine will correct that. I did really well when I was recently groomed which I will need on a regular basis. I love to be brushed and will need you to do that between grooming appointments. Good news I recently had a dental and got to keep all my teeth.
I’m neutered ,microchipped, and up to date on my vaccines and heartworm/ flea preventions. My adoption fee is $100.
