Here's what the humans have to say about me:
LOCAL ADOPTIONS ONLY. Must live within 1 hour of Cleveland, OH area.
A home visit for a meet and greet is required.
Stella is a 1 year old, 35 pound, female French Bulldog Mix. Stella has a longer tail, not characteristic of the Frenchie breed. She is also bigger than a typical female Frenchie.
At one year old Stella has been through a lot. She contracted Parvo at 3 months old and was very sick. Her owner (breeder) brought Stella and her brother Pierre to the emergency vet to be euthanized. The staff opted to treat vs. euthanize and had the owner surrender them. With the help of rescue they received treatment and survived. They spent the next months with a new family but due to issues beyond the family’s control they had to be surrendered again to find new homes. Pierre has found his new home. Now it’s Stella’s turn!
Stella is a sweet, loving, bundle of energy! As soon as she wakes up and takes care of business she is looking for someone to play and cuddle up with. She is personality plus and loves everyone she meets!
Stella loves to play with toys and will entertain herself. She really loves squeaky toys and balls. She is still in puppy chewing mode so be sure to have chew toys on hand that can withstand HARD chewing! Otherwise she will turn things like shoes, remotes, human toys etc. into chew toys.
Stella’s wish is to have a playful, energetic, well-mannered fur sibling. She is living with senior dogs in her foster home who will not play with Stella no matter how hard she tries. And boy does she try! So we are recommending a home with another dog that meets her wishes.
Stella loves to run, play and chase a ball in the yard and is asking us to find her a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely enjoy life. So we are requiring a fenced yard for her. No invisible fences. No exceptions.
When Stella gets over-excited she will jump and grab at your hand to get your attention. Her foster mom is working on her manners and behavior but she will need a family who is patient and understands she will need ongoing training.
Stella loves all humans, including children, but we recommend a home with children over the age of 10 due to her habit of jumping when she’s excited.
A home without cats, birds or other small animals is recommended since she is likely to chase and possibly result in unintentional harm.
She has learned to sit and we’re working on some other basic commands with her.
She enjoys walks and she is good on leash. Occasionally starts to pull but responds to redirection. She is a very smart girl!
She is crate trained and working on house training. She will go to the door when she needs to go out but if you miss her signals she will start pacing and may eventually have an accident in the house.
She is up to date on vaccines and is spayed.
