Wendy has been patiently waiting for her forever home where she can bring endless joy and unconditional love. At 3 years old and 44 pounds, this cattle dog/heeler mix is ready to make you laugh and feel cherished every single day.
Here are just a few reasons why Wendy will be the perfect addition to a lucky foster or forever home:
- Well-Trained: Wendy is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. She knows her name and basic commands like "place," "sit," "come," and "off." Plus, she's incredibly food-motivated, making it easy to teach her new tricks!
- Adventure Buddy: Whether it's walks, car rides, or pool time, Wendy is always up for an adventure. She’s athletic and has medium energy, making her an ideal companion for both active outings and relaxing moments.
- Snuggle Expert: Wendy's soft fur makes her the perfect snuggle buddy for cozy days at home. You'll love having her nestled up next to you.
Wendy is looking for a home where she can be the only dog. But rest assured, Wendy is all the dog you’ll ever need. Her affectionate, smart, and fun-loving nature will fill your life with happiness.

The Street Dog Project is comprised of a small group of volunteers who are passionate about saving street dogs in Dallas, TX. The majority of our team was previously heavily involved at another local street dog rescue but left for various reasons over the years. We wanted to save more lives so "got the band back together". We are an experienced team of rescuers, operating under a new name.
We have a lot of experience capturing elusive street dogs and helping them adjust to life in a loving home.
The dogs are taken to the vet upon rescue so they can be examined, dewormed, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (and treated if positive) and attend to any other medical needs. Life on the streets is tough so a lot of the dogs we take in have beyond basic medical needs. Heartworm, mange, leg and eye injuries are some of the most common medical conditions we encounter.
We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on donations to save lives. Donations can be made by clicking the "donate now" button on our Facebook page or visiting www.thestreetdogproject.org. Thanks for your support!
