DOG'S DESCRIPTION:
Hi! I am Grim (aka Grimlin). I just made my way into a foster home (finally) and I’m potty trained, crate trained, know sit and lay down, and am learning how to walk on a leash. My initial obedience training was sponsored by 4 on the Floor, so I have come a long way already. My foster family has a dog and a cat. I’m ok with another dog my size/age, and I’m totally fine with the cat. I would be best with kids stable on their feet (else I would knock them over with my enthusiastic affection). I am a great candidate for a family dog.
Other dogs are fun but I absolutely LOVE every single person on the planet. I love all attention and scratches. My favorite pastime is receiving belly rubs, during which I will let out adorable snorts reminiscent of a piglet – what can I say, I’m endearing! I am also a connoisseur of zoomies, and my playful antics are bound to keep you entertained for hours on end. My energy is contagious, and I would love a home with a fenced yard where I can unleash my boundless enthusiasm for life, running and playing to my heart's content. A couple of walks a day would also be great not only contribute to my physical well-being but also provide the perfect opportunity for me to learn proper leash etiquette (I’m a work in progress). But after some good exercise, I am ready to be a chill little hangout buddy when it’s time to relax.
I was found as a stray in Georgia as a young pup when I got scooped up by the nice folks at a local dog rescue. They asked K-9 if they could take me in and – lucky me – here I am! I have a unique look from my time on the streets (some scars and bumps). Also, one ear is always up and one ear is always out to the side; but my ear asymmetry only adds to my unique, adorable look and charm. Despite whatever happened to me in my past life, I am a true lover ready to give and receive endless affection.
Once you lay eyes on my handsome face and outstanding charm, be prepared to fall head over heels in love. I am ready to become your loyal companion, bringing laughter, love, and joy into your home. I cannot wait to be part of a family!
My fur has a slight curl to it and consequently, I really don't shed much at all. Maybe there's poodle in me? Anything is possible...
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
