Meet Zeppelin! This amazing boy has been through a lot in his short life. But lucky for him... he landed with Save-A-Mutt. He was brought to the shelter in need of groceries, incredibly underweight for his age and breed. Once in foster, we managed his food and he doubled his weight in just over two weeks. Zepp is an amazingly happy boy. He loves his foster dogs, the kids that visit... he's just a playful, and slightly chill dude. He for sure loves his ball. He is so good with the resident dogs in his foster home. He shows interest in the cats, but they quickly correct him and he walks away.
He just turned 7 months old and is about 50+ pounds. We sent in DNA and we were guessing Shepherd / Labrador. Nope, Shepherd / Bully and some other stuff. :) His coloring is beautiful. DNA said Zeppelin will be in the 70+ pound range when fully grown. Zeppelin's ideal home is one familiar with large breed dogs and a fenced yard. Zepplin is going to need some housebreaking reminders. We think he was likely locked in a crate pretty much the first five months of his life and is learning those boundaries. It’s almost like he missed a lot of puppets in those early minds, he can be puppy, mouthy, and kind of a big dork! On the flip side, he's very good in his crate. We have made it fun and give yummy chews when he's in there. Zepp sleeps through the night and is left there for a few hours when his foster has to leave the home. He LOVES his people and would make a great office companion.
He is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He just had an insurance exam and has been cleared orthopedically. We can transfer the pet insurance to his new family. He is in a foster home with other dogs, cats and even met chickens. He's quick to correct - like when he met the chicken - hee hee.
Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.
Save-A-Mutt requires a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. You pick a trainer in your area, complete a class and we will refund the deposit.
Adoptions typically take place in Marysville. Zeppelin is ready for his forever home!
Adoption fee is $375 + $100 refundable training deposit. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.
Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make acceptions only with the approval of the foster home.
Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
