My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dean Verdile ("Dean")
2012 Registered Thoroughbred Gelding

Meet the tall, dark, and handsome Dean! This is a true warhorse with 77 starts across 9 years with earnings of $244,000! Dean just retired this fall as he was aging out. Unfortunately, Dean did come away with some arthritic and bony changes in his RF fetlock. Our vets feel he is suitable as a pasture buddy only, so no riding again for him. Dean does have a sway back, but it doesn't affect him at all. He has an incredibly sweet personality and gets along well with all his gelding buddies in turnout. He is good for the farrier & vet. Dean would make a wonderful addition to any farm as a babysitter to other horses.

Suitable as a Companion Horse.

More about this shelter

Mission:
Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, works together with our community better the lives of animals through justice, prevention, and life-saving care.

Vision: A just and compassionate world for all animals.

Lollypop Farm is not your typical animal welfare organization. We don’t classify ourselves as merely a shelter, simply taking in and rehoming pets. Rather, we are your partner. We’ll work with you to build a just and compassionate world for all animals–to save animals from abuse and suffering, to find a resource to keep your pet, to guide you in adopting a new pet, to make the tough decision to say goodbye to your family friend or to share information on how to help animals in your daily life.
