Here's what the humans have to say about me:
When we rescued Everest we though she was 9-12 months old. Turns out she is actually full grown at what is guess to be about 2-years old. Looking for a sweet husky that is small and will always look like a puppy? Look no further. Everest is the perfect rescue husky for anyone looking for a dog that is under 50-lbs.
Everest is the smallest full-grown husky we ever rescued at about 40-lbs. She LOVES to be around people and play with other dogs. It is rare that a shelter dog with a heartwarming rescue story comes out so sweet and family pet ready. She is very easy to walk on a leash, good in doggy playgroups, and good with kids.
Little is known about Everest's first home, but based on the bite damage to her ears, it is guessed that she was tied up and neglected for most of her life. She was either released, or escaped, with her brother Marshall (who we also have), and was brought to Solano Animal Services where she was rescued by For A Stray. Somehow Everest and Marshall were able to stay incredible sweet and loving even with their rough backstory.
Things her new adopting family will need to work on: Basic obedience like no jumping and not going through the trash. She likes toys but needs to be told what she can use a toy and what she cannot. Like most shelter dogs, she is so grateful for affection she can cling hard to who new owner so boundaries need to be set, which can be tough were her adorable puppy face. She is very smart and like to please (rare for a husky), so we have no concerns that this issues can be worked through with proper obedience training from her owner. She is rated an easy adoption.
Whatever individual/family decides to give Everest a second chance at life is going to get very lucky. Everest is one of those special dogs that every pet owner dreams of.
