Chester is a 2 yr old Jindo-mix boy. He is incredibly sweet and easygoing. He will wag his tail even to the stranger and welcome everyone. In his foster home, he was fine with all the other dogs, no matter their sizes, male or female. He has an excellent walking manner. (Of course, he loses his attention to the squirrels but it is really control-able! 😆 compared to any of our Jindos, his manner is superb.) He does not pull the leash and even checks the foster mom coming. His foster mom describes his personality as a Budda. 🤣 He does not mind other dogs taking his food or water. He will gently sit and wait until others finish. He is a submissive dog, and perfect for the second dog.
He was found in an area reported as a dog meat farm with 21 dogs. He was the only dog captured, though. (He likes people this much!) The rest of the dogs ran away and became stray, but the only one captured (Chester) sent to the shelter conducting euthanethia. Chester waited to be rescued before his limited time ended, and luckily, his Korean foster mom gave him a chance to start his life with people and another Jindo dog under the roof. We can only guess, but he is afraid of the non carpeted floor..... Especially dark wood color which reminds him of the rusty iron bar in the farm where he used to live on. In the foster home, he locked himself on the carpet only but now he can roam the house, not completely free but as long as he sees little rugs to step his two back feet on, he moves. Chester has the strength to hike and walk for quite a long time but lays down on the carpet and inside the house. He will have no problem even in the condo as long as he gets 2 decent walks a day. (more walking is always better!) Chester is currently in our foster home in GTA.
