My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

So we know we’ve posted Helvetica before, but she had to be pulled from adoption availability for a while so we could figure out her gut issues. She is a gorgeous 7 month old Maine Coon that was born from a Maine Coon (Arial) that we rescued from a bad breeding situation. Helvetica is a little smaller than you’d expect, mostly because of everything she’s gone through.

If you remember from before, Helvetica has survived a variety of illnesses and problems since she was a young kitten, she survived panleuk and a skin infection, plus some severe GI troubles. We’re happy to report that we have gotten her gut fairly well sorted with a particular diet. She may have to stay on this diet the rest of her life, she may need medication as she gets older, or she may heal, only time will fully tell.

Her adopter needs to be aware of some things:
- She requires a large, high sided litterbox
- The litterbox needs to be well maintained and kept clean
- If there are other cats in the house, she needs an extra litterbox so she never has to compete
- Her diet consists of a prescription care Gastrointestinal Biome food (and an additional low fat food), she will need regular vet checks to monitor her gut health and to renew her prescription
- Her fur is very soft and wispy and needs frequent brushing and she would benefit from getting established with a groomer

And now for the less gloomy stuff: Helvetica is hilarious, sweet, and so very friendly. She likes to groom people and be the center of your whole world. She really is a wonderful cat who has grown into a gorgeous girl. Like her mom, she will continue to fill out and her mane will come in very fluffy.
