My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This seriously handsome guy is a bundle of fun and love! Shaggy is all about enjoying life in the play yard. Whether it's greeting new people who come to say hi or making new canine friends, Shaggy knows how to have a good time! After some exuberant play, you'll find him chilling on the side, recharging and getting ready for the next round of fun! Shaggy's adorable nub tail is always wagging with joy and excitement. His playful spirit and friendly nature make him a great companion. Imagine all the adventures you could have with this sweet boy by your side.
- Dog and people social-- gentle with people.
- Would love to go on a hike and then cuddle on the couch.
- Often seeks affection.

More about this rescue

Paws For Life K9 Rescue pulls its dogs from city and county shelters. Often, we choose dogs in need of socialization and training which we place with our incarcerated trainers throughout California State Prisons.
We do this because they can dedicate all of their time to their rehabilitation. After several months of training, our dogs are ready for family life after completing their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. Some are trained to become service animals for military veterans with PTSD. By lowering euthanasia rates and preparing dogs for service-jobs, PFL is proving that everyone deserves a second chance.
