My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zena is a beautiful girl who would love to be your loyal companion. She enjoys long daily walks and would be thrilled to have a backyard to do her signature zoomies in! However, she's just as happy being an apartment dog as long as she gets her daily outings.

Zena adores affection from her trusted humans, though she may be a shy at first. With patience and love, she'll warm up to you and show her sweet and playful side. Zena prefers to be your one and only dog in the home, so she can soak up all your attention and love!

If you're looking for a special, loyal companion, Zena might be the perfect match for you!

More about this rescue

Paws For Life K9 Rescue pulls its dogs from city and county shelters. Often, we choose dogs in need of socialization and training which we place with our incarcerated trainers throughout California State Prisons.
We do this because they can dedicate all of their time to their rehabilitation. After several months of training, our dogs are ready for family life after completing their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. Some are trained to become service animals for military veterans with PTSD. By lowering euthanasia rates and preparing dogs for service-jobs, PFL is proving that everyone deserves a second chance.
