My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am available for adoption under a Foster to Adopt agreement. This means that my adopter would act as my foster for a period of up to 30 days before finalizing the adoption.

Hi, I'm Minx. My foster family also calls me Minxy! :) I'm a very sweet dog with lots of love to give. My foster family thinks I'm probably an aussie/lab mix. I have a gorgeous chocolate coat and stunning golden eyes.

I'm looking for a female-only family. I LOVE my foster dad, but I'm scared of most men and bark/growl at them. I think a female-only home will help me feel the most comfortable and happy. Older, considerate children are okay, but I will need slow intros with them.

I am shy and timid around new people and new situations. My foster family has been helping me build confidence in meeting new people and going to new places but I will need my forever family to continue working on socializing me. Once I am comfortable in my home, I come out of my shell and am a typical happy, wiggly puppy who loves to play with other dogs and cuddle up next to my humans.

I spend my day playing with my foster siblings, chewing on bones, throwing balls for myself, taking naps, going on walks, finding sticks in the yard, car rides, and cuddling up on the couch for a show. I love going to sniff spots so would love a fenced in yard to run around in, but I'm also used to being let out on a leash/long lead if you don't have a fence. My foster family also says I have excellent recall so I'd make a great adventure buddy.

I am potty trained and crate trained although I'm old enough now that I no longer get into stuff so I get to sleep on the couch at night and sometimes a bed! I get so excited to see my foster family and I'm learning to not jump and sit for my pets.

I am very loyal and need a bit of work on sharing my humans. I display some resource guarding of my foster family when one of my foster dog siblings comes near us. I feel better when my family gives me lots of pets/praise when another dog comes near but sometimes this doesn't work and they have to walk away from me or put me in my crate. I LOVE to play with other dogs so would enjoy a dog sibling if my family can continue to work on my resource guarding. The rescue will provide some ongoing training as part of my adoption. I would also do just fine as an only dog since I love to have my human's attention all to myself!

I can't wait to find out who my forever family will be - is it you?

From her foster: Minx is the sweetest girl in the world. She loves to play fetch and loves to cuddle on the bed/couch. She can be a little shy at first but once she warms up to you she loves to play. When we first got her she was nervous but she warmed up to us within 2 days. She is very quiet in the home and doesn't bark unless something provokes her. She still has puppy energy and loves to play but also just loves to relax and she can keep herself entertained for hours just bitting on a bone. Her cutest trait is when she gets super excited when you are petting her and she tries to pet you back and gives you a nose push so she can get more pets. She deserves the world and hope her future family and give that to her!

Go meet their pets

The Bond Between's goal is to not keep any animals at our rescue office. The majority of our animals are living in foster homes until they are adopted. Occasionally, animals are living in our rescue office that are in need of a foster home.

If you would like to meet an animal at our office who needs a foster, please reach out to inofficeanimals@thebondbetween.org and fill out our foster interest form at https://www.thebondbetween.org/foster

More about this rescue

The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.

We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
