Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Forget-Me-Nots are small, sometimes missed, flowers that symbolize true love, loyalty, and remembrance. At the Maryland SPCA, we classify a pet as a Forget-Me-Not to highlight an animal that may have some extra considerations for potential adopters to be aware of. Even though this pet may need a little extra TLC in order to fully bloom, we know they are still a strong candidate for adoption and they're sure to bring true love and loyalty into their new family. We hope you'll remember these beautiful creatures when you consider adopting.
Meet Dymond, a pint-sized American Bulldog whose personality sparkles as brightly as her name suggests! Though initially shy, Dymond quickly blooms into a bundle of exuberant joy once she feels safe. Her boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm light up every room she enters. While she's still mastering her manners, her love for treats makes her an eager and motivated learner, always ready to impress. In her previous home, Dymond struggled with being alone, but when crated with her favorite toys, she was perfectly content.
Dymond's ideal home is one where her lively personality can shine, preferably with older kids who understand her sensitivity to loud noises and quick movements. She's happiest as the only pet, as her high energy and strong prey drive make her unsuitable for homes with cats or other dogs. A secure, no-pull harness is a must for her daily adventures, where she's always on the lookout for squirrels! Despite her quirks, Dymond's affectionate nature and zest for life make her a truly special companion. With patience and the right environment, this dazzling girl is sure to bring endless joy and sparkle to her forever family. This picture does not do her justice, ask the front desk staff to meet her in person.

More about this shelter
The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
