Meet Grace! Grace arrived in our care as an unclaimed stray.

Grace is currently in a foster home. Here is what her foster family says about her: `Miss Grace spends most of her time in my spare room. She does sneak out from time to time. She is really sweet, but she gets startled very easily. She likes attention but is easily frightened. I think she will do well in a house as the only kitty. She may do best in an older person`s home.` Her foster family also says that Grace will occasionally get brave enough to jump onto the bed and roll over on her back to show her tummy!

The Loving Heart Animal Shelter is a private, independent, nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of community members who are dedicated to animal welfare. We are funded primarily through private donations and service revenue. We are not controlled or funded by any statewide or national organization. Donations made to national animal welfare groups do not benefit our local pets. We are based near Lafayette, Indiana.

What We Do

Loving Heart Animal Shelter is a no-kill animal shelter and adoption organization. Our shelter strives to create an environment which enhances awareness of the humane treatment of animals. The mission of Loving Heart Animal Shelter is to rescue healthy and treatable dogs. This shall include, but is not limited to sick, injured and abused animals, strays, and owner relinquished animals. We will nurture and restore them to happy healthy lives in loving permanent homes.
