I am Gracie. I am from Texas.
I am best friends with my pal Stripes and we need to be adopted together.
Our total adoption fee will be $300.
Hello! My name is Gracie, and I traveled with my sister Stripes all the way from Texas to TBB.
I’m a shy and timid girl who’s been through a lot of transitions in my short life. I would do best in a quiet and calm home (no young kids, please!).
My ideal forever home will have a room I can have as my own while I settle in, and lots of patience while I build up trust and confidence at my own speed. It may take me a month or more before I feel comfortable enough coming out of this room to explore. Please don’t let this scare you! I just like to take things at my own speed. Once I’ve built up trust, I’ll be integrated into the household. My foster mom is happy to talk to potential adopters about ways to help me feel comfortable in my forever home!
I’m not a fan of strangers (I’ll run and hide), but my foster mom describes me as a very sweet cat who likes to “talk” to my humans. Sometimes I have a lot to say! I’m a good hunter, and I’ll bring you toys. If you throw them, sometimes I even bring them back! I love getting ear scratches and will rub against you to let you know I would like attention.
I have impeccable litter box skills, and I’m pretty good about using a scratching post. I don’t like being picked up or having my nails trimmed, so a forever family with experience and confidence handling cats will be helpful.
Some of my favorite things include:
-Sleeping on fuzzy blankies
-Playing chase with my sister Stripes around the house
-“Talking” to my humans
-Flinging my mousie toys in the air, onto kitchen counters, into shoes/purses/Christmas trees…
I would do best in a home with older, respectful children or no children, as quick movements and random noises scare me. I’ve done well with other kitties with slow introductions, but haven’t lived with dogs in my current foster home.
Also, my sister Stripes is my best friend. We’ve been through a lot together, and would like to be adopted together. If we sound like a good fit, please apply to learn more!

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
