My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pygmy, the 8-year-old, 53 lb bundle of quirks and charm! Hailing from a farm, Pygmy had a bit of a `barkument` with a goat once (let`s just say they didn`t exchange friendship bracelets). While Pygmy might not be on speaking terms with goats, he’s looking for a drama-free life elsewhere. He`s a wildlife enthusiast, so outside adventures might involve a bit of `wildlife-watching,` and he`s quite the vocal storyteller!

Pygmy`s a professional at tippy-tapping when excited and could definitely hold his own in a singing contest (the audience might need some earplugs). He’s looking for a cat-free zone, but in all other aspects, he`s a sweetheart. If you have dogs at home, bring them for a meet-and-greet at the shelter to see if they hit it off. If you`re ready to welcome a furry friend who`s full of character, Pygmy`s here to bring joy and plenty of amusing adventures to your life!

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
