My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**** ADOPTED ** We took Owen under wing from a family who had become unable to care for him. His level of neglect was heartbreaking, but we are ever so thankful that his family decided to let him go so he could get the life he deserves. Owen's matting was very severe... we will spare some details ... but he is now groomed and cleaned (it took 4.5 hours of very tedious work). While his haircut is a little choppy right now due to the condition he was in, we can tell you he is soft like silk... he's a beautiful boy, inside and out. Owen is a very gentle, appreciative, loving, and sweet 3-year-old dog who melts from kind affection. A bit on the mellow side, he takes comfort in being loved by his human(s) and is so happy with attention. We were told he is a Bichon / Shih Tzu mix. If you meet Owen, he will have your heart within 60 seconds. Settling in his foster home, he seems housebroken. Very nicely mannered and happy to be by you all the time. His new family MUST be completely dedicated to proper and regularly scheduled grooming and nail trims. He deserves to be pampered and spoiled and kept beautiful and soft so he feels good. Owen came to us underweight at 12 pounds. He's now eating his full meals and at a good weight of around 14 pounds. We had a urinalysis done for him which revealed crystals in his urine and bacteria, so he's now on special food and antibiotics as we clear this up. Owen is current on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and health checked. He will go to his new home with collar and ID tag, harness and leash. We can set up a meet & greet upon approved application -- please email us to request one.
