My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brave is a lovable one-year-old pitbull mix with a gentle yet cautious personality. He’s still learning to navigate the world, so he can be a bit nervous and shy when meeting new people. Brave needs a slow and patient introduction to feel safe and comfortable around new faces, but once he gets to know you, his true personality shines through.

Despite his initial apprehension, Brave is a sweet and affectionate dog who thrives on love and companionship. His gentle eyes and wagging tail will greet you once he warms up, and he’s always ready to share his happiness. One of Brave`s favorite activities is playing with his collection of stuffed toys. He loves carrying them around, snuggling with them, and tossing them in the air for a little solo playtime. He bonds deeply with those who take the time to earn his trust, and once he does, you’ll have a faithful companion who is always by your side. With his mix of sweetness, playfulness, and sensitivity, Brave is the perfect pup for someone willing to offer him the patience and love he needs to blossom into the happy, confident dog he’s meant to be.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
