Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Kahuna
Nicknames: Mr. friendly furry ball of beautiful. Little lion man.
Breed: Pomeranian mix
Sex: Male
Age: 2 years
Weight: 16 lbs.
Before OMD: Kahuna, along with two other Pomeranians and a cat, was living in a U-Haul with his owner. Ultimately (and long story short) they found their way to animal control, and after months of waiting, Kahuna (and one of the other pups who was not directly adopted) became OMD dogs.
Energy level: Medium. Loves to have fun, but will not be signing up to run a 5k on Thanksgiving any time soon.
Descriptors: Playful. Jovial. Curious. Love bug.
Apartment/condo friendly: Not so much. He's very alert and will bark when he hears something.
What we love: How happy he is. How he bonds to his people and loves them completely (he thinks his foster mom hung the moon). When you pick him up and cuddle the heck out of him. His professional lap warming abilities. His attempt to "sit pretty!"
What he loves most: Balls (and playing keep away). Kong chew toys. Treats. Playing with his foster dog siblings.
The DL on his stranger danger: He was great with everyone he met while at animal control. He is social, easy breezy, and care-free in his foster home and even welcomes visitors when they stop by. However, he can turn into a nervous nelly when taken out of his home with people he is unfamiliar with. Once he is comfortable with you, you should be out, about, and on your way with a happy guy.
Dogs: Yes! He has always lived with other dogs and we think he would like another pup(s) in his forever home.
Cats: Sure. While there haven't been any in his foster home, his U-Haul days included a feline friend.
Kids: We’re looking for 5 years+ and dog savvy.
House-trained: Sure is! He barks or scratches at the door when he wants to go out.
Crate-trained: Nope and not necessary. He has not been crated in his foster home.
Kahuna is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org
