Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET PARMESAN!
Estimated to be somewhere around 10, Parm came into Philly's animal control shelter as a stray. He was microchipped by the puppy mill he was purchased from as a puppy but it was never registered and no one came looking for this little dude! So he joined us here at City of Elderly Love!
Parm is a funny little dude with a quirky look due to years of neglect. He's finally been caught up on vet care which left him with just one eye (the other didn't work anyway and just caused pain) and bone loss in his jaw due to severe dental disease which leaves his little tongue poking out most of the time. All of his teeth needed to be extracted due to their condition and he's feeling better than he likely has in years. Though as a result, he's a bit of a messy eater. Due to his curly coat, he's the type of dog who should have routine grooming anyway so it helps to keep his food-face tidy.
Parm is currently living with other dogs and cats and gets along with them well! He doesn't actively look to play with them but is comfortable sharing his space (except not his food bowls, he'll give little grumbles to let them know to back off). Parm absolutely adores his human friends too! He'll happily curl up next to you on the couch and does little tip tap dances when you come home from a day at the office! He also loves going for car rides and adventures with his foster family. He's a regular at our adoption/fundraising events!
Parm has been fully vetted (phew!) since coming to the rescue and despite years of neglect and a silly appearance, he's in good health! He does receive a dollop of canned pumpkin puree with dinner to help him stay regular. He may need a belly band (male doggy diaper) while adjusting to his new home. He was neutered later in life, just a few months ago, which causes him to mark in new settings but it will subside as he is used to his new home and its smells. He is otherwise housebroken! Consider adopting this cute little mess!
Parmesan is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Interested in adopting him? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
