My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh, I am so glad you are here! Will you scratch my chin while I introduce myself? My name is Sabrina and I thought I was a cat, but apparently I am a purr-machine. My three favorite things are attention, treats, and sitting on laps. Seriously, if you are sitting down for more than a minute, I am calling dibs on your lap. When you get home from work, I will gladly talk your ear off and follow you around the house while telling you about my day. I take a really cheap medication to help keep my thyroid working normally, and I am such a pro at it that I actually look forward to each dose! I also eat a special food to keep my kidneys in tip-top shape, so you will never have trouble deciding what to give me for dinner! I like being the center of attention at all times, so I do not want to live with other animals. People are the only friends I need! I am hard of hearing, but as long as you understand my unique communication needs, I promise we will get along! I even like kids of all ages, because hey, they have laps for me to sit on too! Did I mention how much I love sitting on laps and getting all your attention? I came to CAWS because my previous owner passed away, and I am looking forward to spending my retirement years with another person who will love me as well as she did. Could you be the one I am looking for? If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationNovember 7, 2024, 6:37 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
