My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kelly was injured and in so much pain when we rescued her from abandonment (https://fb.watch/noUEk_H5kN/).
Sadly, her shattered leg couldn't be saved and was amputated, but she came through it very well and adjusted quickly to life as a tripod. We saw this sweet old girl settle once she realized her days of surviving on the streets were behind her and that every day there would be a comfy dry bed, food and water readily available -- she didn't have to dodge traffic to get to it, and that people were there to care for and remind her what a good girl she is. While she can still be skittish of new people, which is understandable considering everything she has been through, everyday, Kelly shows us more of her incredible personality. She is happy, spunky and loves attention.

Call with our adoption coordinator and to references.

Once application approved. You can meet the dog and, if required, bring your family pet to meet him as well.

Once all documents are signed, the adoption fee is paid and all is finalized, your new family member goes home.

Additional adoption info

We do not have a shelter; our dogs are either in foster homes or boarding facilities. Meet & greets have to be scheduled in advance.

The focus of the Redland Rock Pit Abandoned Dogs Project, Inc. is:

- To feed and provide initial emergency care for abandoned and free roaming dogs while promoting their safe capture and transfer to reputable non-profit rescue organizations for re-homing.

- To bring awareness to the plight of the free roaming dogs in Miami-Dade County Florida.

- The ongoing education of the public on the appropriate care of dogs.
