Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Birdie!
This sweet girl is 10-13 years old, rescued after being abandoned by her owners. She was found with gorgeous, long Australian shepherd hair but the shelter shaved it due to matting and it is starting to grow back in her photos!
Birdie is crate trained, potty trained, and in amazing health!
She is such a love bug!! She gives kisses to everyone-even new friends on walks.
She sleeps a lot and can appreciate a big, squishy bed more than most, but she also loves to occasionally pick up a toy and go crazy with it for 5 seconds at a time! She is just soooo silly, gentle, & kind. She loves kids SO much also! Birdie is also a very quiet dog. She doesn't bark at anything so far- even dogs that are going bananas towards her. She has incredible disposition to be able to go w you anywhere.
Birdie is still learning the good life at her foster home, where she is slowly getting to meet other large dogs and a cat. She is doing EXCELLENT so far! Never once showing a sign of stress. She seems to find comfort being near dogs, but we are taking it slow to make sure everyone is acclimated well.
Birdie loves to go on long walks and even will ask you to jog or trot around with her. Do NOT let her age fool you!! This is an active dog at heart! At her vet appointment, she was in perfect health with excellent body composition especially for a senior dog. She also has excellent teeth!
**We do want to note that she has semi cloudy vision. She sometimes will stare to get a better look at people on her walks but is 100% of the time with the intent to be a sweetheart! Other than that, she can see her surroundings very well. Anticipates changes in terrain, stairs- you'd never really know she had less vision even in new environments. However, it is possible that she could lose more vision when she gets older (just like any dog!).
