My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kaida means protector, female warrior and little dragon in Japanese. Her name was inspired by her origin story where her and her brother were found in a box and left outside the Long Beach shelter.

Border Collier x German Shepherd x possible husky

Kaida or Kai is a playful energetic puppy who would love to have a human to walk her, cuddle with her (she loves that) and to be a good leader and best friend too. She hasn't had the best start but is so smart, silly and deserves to have a home of her own. She loves her toys, bones and car rides. She has some social anxiety when meeting new dogs and needs time to relax around new dogs. She is a love bug who craves enrichment and thrives on having tasks but also wants love and affection. She has had NO INTEREST AND WE DONT UNDERSTAND THIS! She is still a puppy and deserves to have her own home and humans who love her for the rest of her life.
She is crate trained, house trained, knows sit, stay and will eat only when being sat and waiting to be told ok. She is very smart and alert, protective and beautiful.

More about this rescue

Our rescue is home based and foster based. We have an amazing family of fosters for our dogs who treat these dogs as their own but we need more now. Our dogs can only thrive in a home environment and we have more dogs than fosters right now, please email if you are able to foster one of our dogs that you might see on our site or one in the future. Fostering not only saves dog's lives and helps rescue save another dog but also you as the foster are providing a loving "home" environment while getting the companionship of a loving dog. All of our dogs are people friendly and most are house and crate trained, some are trained in basic commands and all are safe and healthy.
We take pride in all of our dogs and ensure they are a proper fit for the adopter prior to placement.
We are run on donations to our rescue and always need help to keep the dogs vetted, healthy, happy and in safe keeping, whatever it takes for the dogs, we do.
If you are interested in volunteering your time or making a donation to our rescue please email us and tell us what you're interested in doing. We welcome everyone!
