My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ally and Jackson! They were running the streets in NC. After a few sightings they were picked up by animal control and taken to the shelter. It's amazing neither were struck by a vehicle given the busy roads they were traveling!
After their stray hold was over, they were in danger of being euthanized because of overcrowding. So they're now members of H-E-A-R-T and searching for a furever home together. They will require a secure, fenced yard. Ally can easily get over a short fence or gate. Ally really loves humans and requires a lot of affection. Jackson is a singer and as sweet as can be! He's incredibly smart and picks up on things fast. She's just 10-12 months old and he's 1 1/2-2 years old.

They are spayed and neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, current on vaccines and healthy. Ally is bi-eyed and parti-eyed. That means she has two different collar eyes, but her blue eye also has amber in it. Jackson has crystal blue eyes. They are being fostered in NC but can be transported for the right home. Adoption area is CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, VA, MD, NC, SC & GA.

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

Additional adoption info

Our application can be seen here: www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

We screen all applicants by calling personal references, landlords, vet references, conducting a phone interview and doing a home inspection. We do allow for a two week trial period after the adoption contract is signed. We back our dogs for life.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have visiting hours.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
