My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chance, the loving, two-year-old pup who’s been waiting patiently for his forever family for over a year. Rescued from Prince George’s Animal Shelter, Chance has blossomed into an affectionate, joyful companion, and he’s ready to bring his boundless loyalty and gentle spirit into a loving home.
At 49.6 pounds, Chance is the perfect blend of playfulness and companionship. His ideal day includes two nice walks, some time in the yard, and lots of cuddle time. Chance thrives on human affection and is happiest when he's near his people, making him a wonderful fit for someone who works from home or can spend quality time with him. While he can be a bit timid around loud noises, this only adds to his endearing personality—and with the right love and support, he warms up beautifully.
Chance is dog-friendly and would do best in a home with children 6 years and older. He’s playful, cuddly, and active with a medium-to-high energy level, ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of tail wags to a family who’ll treasure him.
Take a chance on this special boy, and he’ll fill your home with love and loyalty beyond measure. Give Chance the forever home he’s been dreaming of—you’ll gain a friend for life!

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
