Meet Jessica, a brave former puppy-mill momma who is on a journey of healing and rediscovery. Despite a challenging past, Jessica is proving to be a resilient soul, thanks to the supportive presence of her foster brother who is working his doggie magic on her.

Jessica is a canine gem with a heart of gold. She shines brightest in the company of other dogs, finding comfort and trust in their companionship. Her foster brother has become her steadfast ally, guiding her through the process of rebuilding trust and understanding the warmth that human connections can bring.

Jessica's happy place is the backyard on a sunny day. The warmth of the sun seems to provide her with solace, and you'll often find her basking in its glow, taking in the simple joys of the moment.

While Jessica may still be nervous about getting too close to humans, she's making progress every day. With a watchful eye on her foster dad, she peeks around corners, cautiously curious about the world around her. The allure of chewy dog treats brings her a step closer, and the Pavlov training with the bell is proving to be a gentle guide on her journey to trust.

Step 1: You pay an Application Fee and submit your Adoption Application.

Step 2: We review your Application and decide whether you meet our Adoption Criteria.

Step 3: If applicable, we'll call your veterinarian to confirm vet care for current and previous pets.

Step 4: A volunteer will contact you for a Phone Interview to clear up any questions we might have.

Step 5: We'll schedule a Home Visit so you can show us where your new dog will sleep, eat and play.

Step 6: We all work together to find the right Dachshund for you and your family.

Step 7: You sign an Adoption Contract, pay the Adoption Fee, and take home your new family member!
