Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Scotty, a sweet and smart 8-year-old, 13-pound Yorkie with a heart full of love and a personality that will melt yours. Scotty is looking for a high-energy home where he can share his affection and enjoy some quality cuddle time. This little guy is not just adorable; he's also clever, knowing basic commands like sit, lay down, and shake.
He is extremely intelligent. One of the smartest dogs I've seen. When he identities his person he sticks to them like glue. So if you are looking for a sidekick he would be great! When he is calm he gives you the sweetest eyes that melt your heart. He loves to lay next to his person but also will jump down when he has enough and could be on his own. His ears are the most adorable I have ever seen. The way they flop when he walks or runs is so cute and then when he lifts his head to look at you they stand straight up.
Once Scotty identifies his person he feels the need to protect them and he would growl and sometimes he would snap at a new person so an experienced home or a home with one person might be best.
Some quirky things about Scottie, he loves his treats and feeding time. While very food driven he has manners when eating meals and receiving treats. He was afraid of the icemaker and vacuum cleaner but a cautious fear, not a reactive fear. When he wants attention he has no problem letting you know.
Scotty has a playful side, too-he loves running around the backyard, letting off some steam, and playing with his doggie friends. he gets along well with both small and large dogs and is even cat-friendly. Scotty may love running and letting his energy out during playtime but he shouldn't be encouraged to jump and shouldn't be allowed to jump on and off of beds, furniture, etc. Due to him having a burst disc in his back that was surgically repaired almost 3 years ago. He would do best in a home without young children.
Scotty is house-trained and very treat-motivated, Scotty is easy to please and eager to learn. He enjoys car rides, walks, and even bath time.
Scotty is ready to find his forever home, where he can offer endless love and cuddles. If you're looking for a loyal, smart, and affectionate companion, Scotty might be the perfect fit for you.

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
